As most people who visit here will know, eBay decided arbitrarily to end Digital Product Sales, so having first decided that they won’t beat me and put me out of business I have come to a further decision.

Along with others I will (I am) be moving to physical products, but I’m also going to take the opportunity that eBay have given me to re-brand my eBay business.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t too sure about the “brand” I was using, so having discussed with a few people I’ve decided to change it.

This will mean that I probably won’t be back as fast as some others, but when I do come back (soon) it will be with something that is better.

So eBay have decided that Digital Products will be restricted to Classified Ads format from 1st April 2008. And no it’s not an early April Fool, it’s for real.

See here for the announcement

http://www2.ebay.com/aw/core/200803.shtml#2008-03-24125416

Is this the end for eBook sellers or is it an opportunity for some to thrive as the lazy and inept get out of the business altogether ?

Personally, I see it as an opportunity.

A lot, if not most of the “silly” sellers will go by the wayside now and I think that’s a good thing. Leaves the field open for those who are serious about building proper businesses.

You can move your product(s) to physical media CD’s and DVD’s and if you think about that for a little while, it opens up a lot of opportunities for up-selling and traffic generation.

You can do as eBay suggest and move to the Classified Ads format, this is something that Jim Cockrum has been putting forth for quite some time now. Looks like he may be clairvoyant after all.

It will be interesting to see this develop over the next few days for sure, gives us something to write about on blogs so thank you eBay for that at least.

Share your thoughts ? I’d love to know what they are.

Well, plainly and simply YES YES YES.

If you have any intention of creating a web based business then you MUST buy the domain for your name.

Why ?

As you establish yourself people will start to search based on your name, some will do it to find out more about you. Some will be actually looking for whatever it is you have to offer. So having your name there will steer them to you as if they were laser guided. It really is that simple.

You may decide to start a Blog like this one, in which case it gives you the perfect showcase for your products, services or whatever you like really. It also provides a linking place for your other sites, a place to recommend other peoples products that you’ve found useful. Of course there is the opportunity to recommend Affiliate products, where you can increase your earnings.

Even if you eventually decide that this online stuff isn’t for you then you still have your little piece of the web to do with as you wish, keep in touch with family and friends through your blog, post your holiday snaps or whatever you like.

So, if you only do one thing this week to further your business then go buy your domain !

Onwards & Upwards

So what is it ?

Simply put, it is the definitive Methodology whereby you will be guaranteed to maximise your earnings when selling ebooks either on eBay or other auction sites or even from your own websites.

I find it hard to “sell this up” as it were on here so I’ll let you take a look at the site for the product and make your own mind up.

Hell Yes !

Seriously though, I was one of no doubt many who were sat with their fingers on the refresh button, waiting to get in.

I have, I paid my money for Sky High Auctions and as always I will only review something that I have paid for. It’s only fair that I should spend my own money on something if I’m going to suggest that you do the same. (Or not as the case may be).

So what’s in there ?

An absolute goldmine of information and step by step video training of exactly how to start and run your eBay business properly. Real soup to nuts stuff.

This covers Beginners level all the way through to advanced techniques all utilising proven techniques from some absolute Giants from the eBay world and other Internet Marketers. Not least John Thornhill, Jimmy Huber, Ewan Chia, Mark Joyner and more.

The presales said it took 2 years to accumulate all the stuff in the members area at Sky High Auctions and I can believe it, it’s crammed full of very high quality content. Looks like I’m going to be up half the damned night studying this stuff. I’ve already spotted some cool gems of advice that I’ll be putting into place pretty soon.

There’s a HUGE amount of resale rights products included which if you bought seperately would cost a fortune, it’s almost worth it just for those.

I’m not going to go into too much detail here to be honest, but if you want a truly awesome kick start for your fledgling or even your established eBay business then you simply have to take a look at Sky High Auctions.

Good luck !

Why eBooks and other information products are popular choices of most eBay sellers?

Finding perfect products to sell through eBay is one of the biggest problems faced by a lot of sellers. There are many sellers, who face these challenges almost daily even though they earn good profit by selling their products through eBay.

So what is the ultimate eBay product and what characteristics would it have?

The product should be highly profitable
The product should have unlimited supply
The product should be easy to ship and deliver
The seller should own and control the product
The product should have no or very little competition
The product should lend itself to up selling and cross selling

Information products does not mean get rich quick schemes, as that is what usually comes to the mind of most sellers.

Information products mean knowledge based products that:

Assist people
Teach people
Solve people’s issues
Amuse them

Information products are the best selling products on eBay and people love to buy information products like ebooks on:

How to make money with a home business
How to make money with home based photo studios
How to make money on the Internet
How to make money with Affiliate Marketing
Race winning secrets
How to become rich by starting a home based Antiques or photography business
How to design and install beautiful Garden Ponds
How to design and beautify your garden

This list is almost endless to be honest.

Are you perplexed about eBooks? Don’t be, as the information includes lots more than original music, videos, photography etc. Some people sell craft items like patterns. Pet lovers sell videos on dog training, grooming and nutrition. Musicians and bands also sell newly composed music. There is no end to the information product range and you will get tired imagining the topics available. Informational products can also include:

E-books and printed books
Informational Web page access
Videos
Audio files or tape CD’s
Pod Casts
Software products
High quality digital photographs
Printed and electronic material combinations in the form of DVD or workbook
Original music CD’s of DVD’s delivered digitally in MP3

Why information products are most sought after

You can control the product, as you own and set the price for it
Informational products are expensive, but easy to create and lasting
You have the liberty to deliver many products automatically through eBay
You don’t have to face heavy competition
You set the price and deliver the products, as you own the copyright of the product
If you fail in one then you can switch over to the next product or opt for more than one product. EBay gives you endless opportunities to up sell or cross sell additional products along with information products

Why is eBay a perfect site for selling information products?

160+ million members access this site.
EBay members usually search for products by keywords.
It is very easy to operate through eBay.
EBay embraces digital products.

Looking to make a start? Then you could do worse than information products on eBay.

EBay has become one of the most visited and biggest websites on the Internet. It has been ranked as the 19th most visited website online. There are approximately 160 million registered users all over the world on eBay and just less than one tenth of 1% of these users are eBay sellers.

To be precise, eBay is a huge online market and if you are interested in selling information products that can be delivered digitally, like eBooks, don’t miss the opportunity offered by eBay. Initially, eBay was not very good for selling eBooks and other information products, but today things have changed considerably. Now eBay has opened its doors for the eBook sellers after realizing that this procedure has the potential to generate huge profit for eBay. Even if you are not very good with computers, you can take advantage of this opportunity because the process of listing eBooks and information products and making them available for buyers through an instant download link has become very simple and easy.

The problem faced by a great many sellers of eBooks on eBay is that it becomes difficult for them to make profit in a market where an eBook gets sold for less than two dollars. There is a huge drop in the final price even further after the Paypal fees and listings. Many sellers prefer to give up because it becomes difficult for them to figure out methods through which they can earn good money and many don’t even try to start selling.

They do not realize the benefits that they can reap with eBay eBook selling if they put in some extra effort. There are eBook sellers who have managed to generate hundreds and thousands of dollars in a year from their business on eBay. The type of methodology that these successful sellers have employed is very different from the general sellers who give up fast. Sellers who are reaping a lot of profit from information products on eBay have managed to turn the process of selling in to a science. The methodology followed by such sellers is:

They list hundreds of eBooks for sale and then price them at low costs. They do not profit from sale of these eBooks. Instead, they use the eBooks that are priced cheaply as “loss leader” products so that more buyers could be drawn towards the eBay store. Once the buyers visit the store the sellers can sell them products that are priced high.

Viral eBooks are a crucial component of the success rate of these sellers. Whenever they create a new digital information product they include a line back to their store and products along with master rights for reselling. This leads to an expansion in traffic to their store.

Rebrandable eBooks are sold as loss leader products as well as used as a method of affiliate program promotion. With rebrandable eBooks sale the sellers earn some money up front but crucially earn much more from back end sales.

It may sound a bit cliché, but eBay is by far the most lucrative auctioning site on the Internet. It attracts hundreds of thousands of online users across the globe. EBay provides excellent opportunities to sellers who can sell all possible products ranging from electronic goods and home appliances, to electronic goods and cosmetics and a chance to earn a good chunk of money.

These days, there is a great deal of demand for information products, as a lot of sellers are realizing the profit potential of this underestimated market. As a seller, you can shop around for the latest content and buy resale rights in order to create an information product that can be sold again and again. Thus, with this small initial investment, you can earn huge profits by listing your information products with a series of auctions.

Among all the information products available on eBay, eBooks are the most popular of the lot. The biggest advantage of selling information products in the downloadable format is that you can dodge the hassles of shipping and handling. All said and done, it is important that your eBook auctions look tempting enough to lure buyers. A website as busy as eBay requires sellers to look different to be noticed. It is very easy to get lost in the crowd, as there are thousands of sellers out there selling the same kind of information products. All your efforts and money will go down the drain if no one buys your information products. Listed below are some tips that you can use to draw buyers to your eBook auctions.

Pay attention to display

Most eBay offers look the same as sellers avoid spending time and money on a different look. Don’t just blindly follow the herd make sure that you use some interesting graphics that set you apart from the crowd. Also, it is important to have a good title, to invoke the interest of buyers. Having seen hundreds of eBooks on the same topics, they are likely to ignore yours, unless the title grabs their attention.

Develop a unique sales pitch

Most product descriptions on eBay auctions are so similar that they almost seem like carbon copies of one another. You need to make an extra effort to create a sales pitch that’s unique.

Give something extra with your eBook

As sellers continue to fight for the same market niche, it has become important to use sound strategies that can help you survive competition. If the same kinds of eBooks are being offered on sale, there has to be something unique in your eBook auction that can motivate eBay communities to buy it from you. Everyone loves free gifts so offer something extra with your eBook that would make your offer SIMPLY IRRESISTIBLE; an additional report or an extra eBook for the price of
